Eibar showcased their abilities with Orellana spearheading the attack with runs down the right and cuts inside to shoot as the ball spins off the bar. His heroics, however, didn’t last long with the forward picking up a yellow followed by a second to be sent of in the second half for misconduct and mouthing against the referee.

The second goal came in the 88th minute with Coutinho chipping the ball through to Messi who couldn’t finish it off as it was deflected out by Dmitrovic only to see Jordi Laba arriving in time to place the ball in the net with an easy finish.

The match did not showcase a spectacle of goals of breathtaking performances from both sides but a well-deserved win for Barca to add to the point tally. The champions league fixture against Chelsea was definitely on their minds with the squad heading to Stamford Bridge for the first leg.
